This book provides a fascinating pictorial history of the railways in and around Bath, and is packed with black and white photographs (one per page) showing the stations and rolling stock of the area's railway network in times gone by. Mr. Way moved to Bath in 1958 deliberately finding a house that backed onto the Somerset & Dorset Railway so he could indulge his passion for train-watching and taking photographs. He rented an allotment too which meant he could potter away tending his vegetables in between taking photos of locomotives. The Somerset & Dorset line closed in 1966 so this book celebrates the glory of this line prior to its closure 50 years ago.
