As a trained archaeologist with three young children of her own, Dr Emily Hellewell is passionate about both the past and the future. Dr Emily brings her passion for teaching young people to the Museum with classes exploring important subjects such as the ancient Egyptians, Vikings and Romans. Sessions involve interactive activities where children get to try their hand at excavating finds, making Stone Age footprints, and even mummification! Dr Emily’s innovative classes help children flourish and develop independence, listening and attention, fine and gross motor skills and their enthusiasm for trying new things.
We are so proud that local children can get immersed in these fun learning activities in the context of the Museum, in the same room as real archaeological finds. We hope Dr Emily will continue to use the Museum as a venue for her incredible sessions for many years to come and wish her the best of luck with Time Tots!
